Harlem/Washington Heights Education Film Screening & Community Discussion Series

Launched in March 2011, the Harlem/Washington Heights Education Film Screening & Community Discussion Series–hosted by Total Equity Now (TEN), Community League of the Heights (CLOTH), and The A.M.E. Zion Church on the Hill–exposes community members to diverse perspectives and useful information on today’s pressing issues of teaching, learning, and policy in order to strengthen community involvement across our educational landscape. Action-oriented dialogue after each movie or video explores the community’s role in improving educational opportunities with and for young people in our neighborhoods.

To date,  24 film screenings and discussions have, collectively, brought hundreds of Uptowners together to learn from and with each other, forging and strengthening community ties from El Barrio to Inwood.
